Overview
Antiquity, a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal of archaeology founded by O.G.S. Crawford in 1927, is well-known as one of the foremost publications in the field. Since it's relocation to the University of York in 2003 under the editorship of Martin Carver, Heritage Technology has worked in close partnership with the journal to develop its web presence.

After providing earlier websites in 2003 and 2006, Heritage Technology developed a fresh website for the journal in Autumn 2009 - designed to take advantage of new web technologies and further develop the journal's online resources. We continue to provide support develop this resource as part of our overall maintenance partnership with Antiquity. The new website saw the creation of Antiquity Bulletin, a new resource of free-to-access, web-only content including:

  • Short, illustrated articles detailing archaeological projects and new research from around the world.
  • A 'new doctorates' facility, allowing recent graduates to upload their abstracts and search theses by topic or keyword.
  • Access to free content from the current issue of Antiquity Journal.
  • Recent announcements concerning workshops, conferences and events.

Antiquity Bulletin will run alongside Antiquity Journal, which will remain accessible via online subscription. Heritage Technology fulfills the ongoing role to update the website with new content and present the new issue of Antiquity Journal every quarter.
